You play as Rei, a human spirit whose mission is to defeat powerful nature spirits called Kami and gain their abilities. You can choose which Kami to fight first, and the game changes its difficulty based on the order you pick. This means that a Kami you fight early in one playthrough could become the final and toughest boss in another.
Rei starts with basic skills like sword attacks, dodging, and jumping on enemies, but every defeated Kami gives you a new ability. These powers can improve your movement, help you heal, or make your attacks stronger.
